WIAW #17: New Restaurant + Some Other Eats!

Oh.. Ohh.. OOOH.. It’s been a while since I shared what I’ve eaten on the blog! This is gonna be fun! :)

Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner:

My meals actually haven’t changed much, but I guess one thing that I’ve really been loving is oats!

I eat it like rice: with my lean meats and veggies..

It’s what we’d call savory oats.. ;)  (Source)

..It’s kind of something that I started doing when I got sick, but I actually really loved it (especially with chicken; maybe it’s like a chicken & rice thing for me?) and still eat it like that. It might be the texture.. It might be the hearty taste of the oats.. All I know is that it’s WORTH the weird looks I get from my mom sometimes. :P

Breakfast:

Breakfasts usually have to be pretty snappy for me! So yogurt bowls usually do..

Banana, grapefruit, lowfat cottage cheese, almond/peanut butter, chia seeds, lowfat/nonfat Greek yogurt — not quite sure!

..Although I’ve also been known, on days where I’ve had plenty of time, to take out a turkey burger and then eat it with an orange/banana and a Multigrain Thomas English Muffin!

I dunno why, but these babies are my comfort food! I don’t HAVE to have them in the house, but eating them always makes me feel warm and fuzzy and satisfied on the inside.. lol ^_^ (Source)

Lunches:

Honestly, these are pretty darn boring.

Haha, I usually just have a salad with steamed mixed veggies, greens, and chicken topped with some dressing. Right now, the dressings I’ve got are Riki’s Asian Ceasar Salad, Trader Joe’s Goddess Dressing, Trader Joe’s Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Bolthouse Zesty Italian (one of my FAVES!). Sometimes I’ll top my salads with oyster sauce or salsa, though.. My newest favorite salsa being the corn salsa from Trader Joe’s… OH GOSH, THAT STUFF’S GOOD! <3

This is actually a salad from a dinner… But just replace the roasted brussel sprouts with steamed mixed veggies (roasting takes so long.. haha), and that’s basically what I’ll have for lunch most days! :)

Dinner:

This is a fairly recent picture of the dinner I had when my parents and I went out for dinner on Valentine’s Day! (Yeah.. I date-crashed. SO glad I did! haha xD)

M. Mmm. MMMMMMmmmm!!! We tried something new and went to a Mongolian Grill restaurant near my school, because my mom really wanted to try it out and it was a REALLY good choice! Okay, okay.. It would’ve been really easy for me to cook that meal above ^^, but it sure as heck was nice to get out of the house and not have dishes and stuff to clean afterwards!

Besides.. These people had the BEST sauce ever! Their special, spicy Mongolian sauce that I swiped from their “sauce bar” and placed in one of their little to-go containers when nobody was looking. Oh gosh, I have problems.. Foodie problems. :P

Haha, I have no shame. It’s good sauce! ’nuff said. ;)

Snacks/Treats:

Most days, , I just eat a ton of fruit..

..Raw almonds, and string cheese for lunch. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t mind eating the same meals over and over again, because it’s not that big of a deal to me. The only thing that I’m picky about repeating over and over again are workouts. I HAVE to have variety there!

But sometimes I’ll want treats/different snacks to switch things up a little.. That’s when I turn to these snack foods:

Popcorn

Gnu Bars– never tried an actual Blondie before, but I DO love this bar! The Peanut Butter flavor is meh.. I wouldn’t recommend it.

According to tons of studies, chocolate milk is one of the best workout-recovery drinks ever! :D

Really, I’ll have any kind of chocolate.. But this is the only one I’ve got a picture of at the moment! :)

Lots of good eats lately, and I’m one girl with a happy belly! ^_^

Anyway, big thanks to Jenn at Peas and Crayons for hosting this blog link-up. She is SO diligent about keeping it up, and it’s nice of her because it’s so much fun!

Happy Hump Day! :P

    • Me too!! Omg, I’d been eyeing this brand of popcorn in the grocery store for the longest time and I’m glad I finally caved and got it! It’s such an awesome snack for those days when I’m craving something salty and crunchy. :D

    • Aw, thanks Sloanne! I miss you too! :) And I wanna give you a big congrats on how big your freEDom link ups! Whenever I can, I’ll be working on a post to link up for that!
